Shrine to Ida Sang Hyang Widhi Wasa (God Almighty) as an expression of gratitude for having created the universe and its contents.

Pura Agung Jagatnatha was built in 1953. And like most temples in Bali, the position of the temple is facing east to Mount Agung, Bali's Hindus believe that on top of the mountain is a palace of the gods. The temple was created as a place of worship for Hyang Widhi Wasa (God Almighty) as an expression of gratitude for having created the universe and its contents.
The story of why this temple was built is that a number of migrants from various villages in Bali, while in Denpasar, did not have a place to pray. Pura Agung Jagatnatha's shape is designed very beautifully and filled with religious and artistic ornaments. Amid the temple area are high-rise towers called Padmasana (Padmasana is a level-rise building form made for the Palace of the Gods). Padmasana in this temple is made of white rock, and at the top there is a gold carving. Inside the temple, there is a bridge with statues of lotus flowers and frogs. On the wall around the temple, there is a relief illustration of the Bratayuda War and the story of the Ramayana.
Jagatnatha Temple in Denpasar, Bali, is open 24 hours a day and is intended for anyone who wants to pray. At the time of the full moon, more people come to worship at this temple. As part of the Full Moon festival, shadow puppets are often performed with various stories of the Ramayana and Bratayuda War.
